Denise began riding as a junior in Southern California, where she trained with many well-known trainers such as James Hagman and Corinne McDougall. Her Junior and Amateur careers include many championships in the equitation and medals.
Denise started her own training barn in 1990 and has since produced many top jumper, equitation, and hunter riders. Denise’s students have won multiple competitions including the Norcal Junior Medal Finals, the Horse & Hound Medal Finals, the $10,000 PGN Jumper Stake, the $30,000 Rancho Murieta Summer Classic Jumper Stake, and many more.
Jennifer started riding at around two years old, and since then has barely spent two consecutive days out of the saddle. She has ridden, competed, won championships, been bucked off, spun off, stomped on and sneezed on by every manner of horse and pony you can imagine. For some reason, she still gets up in the morning eager to get back on a horse.
As a Junior, Jennifer had an exciting and varied career with many accomplishments in all three rings, on borrowed horses as well as on her own. She competed in the equitation and medals every year and racketed up several high placings, such as winning the 2005 Norcal Junior Medal Finals, the 2004 Horse & Hound Medal Finals, the 2005 EMO Horsemanship Medal Finals, and more. She also spent time in the Junior Hunters as well as the Junior Jumpers.
After her Junior career ended, Jennifer spent three more years as an Amateur, venturing into the Grand Prix ring as well as the Hunter Derby ring. She still competed in Medal Finals, north and south, culminating in 2010 with a third place finish in the USEF Talent Search Medal Finals. During this time, she and her mother Denise were also developing a business in the buying and importing of European jumping horses.
After she became a professional in 2011, Jennifer turned her attention to the development of her students and their horses, teaching with a focus on the importance of flatwork, balance, and creative, independent thinking. She is still buying and importing horses with her mom.
